Mother's Day

These two right here...well, they make my world go round.
They are my two little treasures.
I am so blessed to be called their Mama.

Circus 2014

One of my most favorite gifts to get are these little homemade cards where they have to answer questions.  The answers are always so cute and make me laugh.

On Wednesday, when I picked Jonah up from Ms. Angie's Sonshine Preschool, he was so proud to give me my gift.  I read it out loud and he just smiled.

My mommy is so smart.  She can watch Dancing with the Stars.
:) So smart.
My mommy looks pretty when she puts on her makeup.
Hahahahahaha I'd better remember to keep putting that makeup on then.

When he gave that to me it reminded me of the precious card that Olivia game to me 3 years ago when she was going to Ms. Angie's.

How did God make your mom?
He made her out of heart.
Precious.

Then on Friday I picked up Olivia from school and she gave me all of her things that she had made me.  She had been telling me all week that she had something special for me.

It is Mommy Facts.
My favorite is where it asks what I weigh and her answer is Who cares.
Hahahahaha love it!!!

They both mentioned Dancing with the Stars....we love to watch that together...can you tell?

Our days consist of working from dawn until almost dusk, maintaining the land while praying for a rain and watching our livelihood expand and contract in the form of momma cows bringing babies into the world, building a herd, branding and weaning the calves and starting the cycle again the next year. We have been blessed with the opportunity to work hard in good weather and bad in order to care for God’s land while providing a life a bit more simple than most for our children. Here’s to a life less ordinary and a faith dependent upon abundant mercy.

What I Wore Wednesday {#3}

Oh my goodness you guys.  This week was not great as far as my clothes go.  I had every intention of laying my clothes out for the week on Sunday or at least the night before, but that did not happen.  I did lay out the kids outfits on Sunday for the week and that helped our mornings a little bit.  With the exception of the fit Jonah threw on Tuesday morning because he wanted to wear his long sleeved Batman shirt instead.  It's hard to explain to a 5 year old that it's going to be 93 degrees.  {Thank you, Texas} We found one of the short sleeved ones and were good to go.

We are so busy these days...just like each of you I know.  Sometimes I think that there are just not enough hours in the day.

...and then I remember this...

Photo is from @socialclubok (Instagram)
They are a Shop & Salon in Norman, Oklahoma.
Check them out at www.wearethesocialclub.com

Ha! If only I had an entourage to help me out.

This week I would be so tired I would fall into my bed and then hit snooze more times than I would like to admit.

Without further ado,

Thursday - work.

Chambray shirt - Old Navy
Jeans - The Loft
Shoes - Toms
Scarf - Old Navy
Watch - Michael Kors
Earrings - gift from my friend, Maryam

I like to make weird, funny faces.  It helps me embrace the selfies.

I love these shoes...super comfy.

Friday
I can't even remember what I wore last Friday and there is no picture to show of that day.

Saturday
We went to a baseball playoff game in Wichita Falls (great season, Indians) and then we came back home to help chaperone prom.
I don't wear dresses often and I had trouble deciding what to wear to prom.  I didn't want to look like I was going to prom myself, but I also didn't want to look like I was going to Walmart.

So I picked this dress.

Dress - J. Crew
Cardigan - Walmart
Shoes - DSW
Necklace - Lisa Leonard Designs
Watch - Michael Kors
I took it off before we left...felt like it was too much
Bracelet - Wrist Soiree

The first time I wore this dress I was actually in my brother's wedding.  I was also 8 months pregnant with Jonah.  So that gives you an idea....I barely fit into this maternity dress. ...and I'm sharing that with you.  I obviously have no shame.

I also...wore this dress on the night Jason proposed to me.  It was a little big on me that night though. :)

This is a blurry shot...but these are the shoes I wore.

These are my wedding shoes.  I'm so glad I can still wear them from time to time.

Shoes - DSW

Here is my handsome husband.
This is what he wore to chaperone the prom.

These were my jewels I wore.
My favorite pieces...my wedding ring and my Amelia bracelet.

Bracelet - @wristsoiree
You can find her on Instagram.  Beautiful pieces.

Buy Amelia bracelet here... (It's on sale!!!!)

Sunday - church
Our church is pretty laid-back and sometimes (most of the time) I wear jeans.
The shirt has tiny stars on it.  It looks kinda too long on me, but it was comfy.

Star Shirt - Old Navy (new)
Jeans - Walmart
Shoes - Target

Monday - work

The picture is really blurry....but this I just threw on because I had 10 minutes to put myself together.

Cardigan - Ann Taylor (from my Mama)
Tank - I can't remember the brand.
It was from my Mama,
she is always giving me clothes.
Jeans - The Loft
Shoes - Old Navy

Tuesday - work

Well, I did not take a picture today....but I wore this exact outfit.
This is a picture from last week.  The only difference is my hair was in a ponytail.

Wednesday (today) - work

I have got to start getting up earlier.... Today I just threw this on and it is so wrinkled.  No time to iron or fluff in the dryer.  I just put it on and hoped that the wrinkles would "fall out."

Cardigan - JCPenney
Tank - Walmart maybe? from my Mama
Jeans - J. Jill
Shoes - Old Navy
Watch - Michael Kors

Nothing inspiring here, folks.
....but you can find some inspiring outfits over at The Pleated Poppy.  Link up with Lindsey!
I'm needing some inspiration so I'm going to check out those links and Pinterest.

Then and Now...of Today

This week I have been organizing my digital photos. This is something that I have put off for years (literally).
While I was moving them over to my new laptop...I started wondering what I was doing on this very day in some of the past years.
Then I thought it would be fun to put them together in a post. These are just the ones that I had on my new computer. Some of the years I didn't even take a picture from this day...and this year I only had screenshots.

First up, is May 6, 2011. This picture is of my daughter (age 4) and I.  We were at my little cottage for a Mother's Day Tea. My Mimi, my Mom and Jonah were also there. It was lovely. We should do that again.  Olivia is wearing an Ariel gown that a sweet, little friend gave her for her birthday. ....and look at those long, wavy locks. I miss that.

Next is a picture of myself from May 6, 2012.  Jason and I were eating at Joe's Crab Shack in Fort Worth.  I was always embarrassed when he would be snapping my picture, still am.

This next picture is from May 6,2013. This was one of Jonah's T-ball games last year. He was just starting to figure it out.   This is a collage that Jason had made and sent me.

Like I said...today I only had screenshots. This is one that I found via Ann Voskamp (her blog posts wreck my heart and loved her book, One Thousand Gifts).

Well, that was fun. I will have to do it again.  It is amazing to flip through old photos and feel those sweet moments again.

Goodnight, friends.

The One with Our New Puppy

Meet the newest member of our family, Tripp.

A sweet little lady came to our door one day and asked if we had lost a dog.  Then I am not certain how the entire conversation went....but I looked up from my desk and saw this.

My husband holding a little puppy and saying... Ummmmm.
He said something about the lady pushing the puppy into his arms, but I bet there was a little more grabbing and a little less pushing....
Because look at that smile.  This man loves him some dogs....of all kinds.
I see him with a dog and instantly think of...

What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Slugs and snails
And puppy-dogs' tails,
That's what little boys are made of.

Jonah and Olivia of course love him.

At first I didn't want to name him Tripp because we have a little cousin by that name...but once I attempted to go up our stairs only to find him under my feet every single time....I understood how my husband came up with his name.  So... Tripp it was.

Just look at them....pitiful ;)
