The One with the Home Challenge Week #2

Last week in my Monday's Top 5...I linked up to this home challenge....The Love Home Challenge.

Challenge #1 was the kitchen.  My goal was to go through all of my cabinets and drawers and pull out anything that wasn't useful or beautiful.  Why is it so freeing to get rid of stuff?

This week the focus is Kid Space.  Olivia's room is looking pretty good...when it's clean, but it's time to go through Jonah's toys.  I would like to share another blog post with you.  This post changed my life!! To some of you ... you will think it's crazy... but I love it!

I think toys and stuff can just get out of control at times!!! I mean you can't take it with you.... It's just stuff.  That's why I really like the quote up above.  It's a quote by the designer, William Morris.  Smart man, that one.

The post I want to share is by Ruth Soukup at Living Well Spending Less.  The name of the post is - Why I Took My Kids' Toys Away... - and you can find it HERE

Experiencing life and being in the moment...that's how I want my kids to enjoy life.  I don't want them in front of a screen 24/7... or lost in a room of toys...so many that half of them have been forgotten about!!

If you are participating in this challenge...here is the link!

  1. I'm continually trying to purge things. My word for the year is simplify. My Goodwill pile keeps growing and I'm loving it!
