Good News Friday {#12}

Hey y'all!

It's Friday which is good news in itself...huh?

...but today is also Halloween...so you can get FREE candy!

My little Batman and Kitty Cat.

I had bought an Iron Man costume for Jonah (By the time I went shopping there were only 4 different costumes to choose from)...but you see how well that went over :)
He told me that Iron Man was the most boringest (his word)
 Super Hero ever....
so he wore his costume from last year.

Also.... TONIGHT these Indians will play their last home game of the season... 7 p.m. against Lockney.
Let's fill the stands!!!

and for these Seniors... it will be the last time they play
at Indian Stadium

Remember what your coaches have told you.... if they could go back and play any game over....it would be one of these.

Enjoy every single one of those 48 minutes!
Make some good memories tonight!
High School Football doesn't last forever, but the memories do!!!

The One with the Self-Interview for Texas Women Bloggers

Hello!
In November I will be attending my first Blogging Event...

I am going to the Texas Women Bloggers Farm to Table Dinner Event and I am really excited!!

They have asked the ones that are attending to link up and share this interview...

______________________________________________________

1. What is your name, blog title, and URL link? (*include a recent photo of yourself too!)

Tara Sims
Mrs. Coach Sims
2. How did you come up with your blog’s title?

I am not a coach, but I do use Mrs. Coach Sims on all of my social media.  Right after my husband and I were married I wanted to change my Twitter name.  He suggested to make it similar to his...so that is what I did.  The first time I was called Mrs. Coach Sims was at one of our high school baseball games.  We walked up into the stands and one of the dads said...Hello Coach Sims...Hello Mrs. Coach Sims....and that is where the name began.
I love it because I love my husband so much and because I admire how much he enjoys his job. I spend most of my days following him around as he chases his dreams and I wouldn't spend them any other way.

3. How long have you been blogging?

I started this blog in November of 2012.

4. When we visit your blog, what can we expect to discover?

You just never know. I'm pretty random. You can find anything from sports stuff, to posts about parenting, marriage....my faith, my quirky, little world....I like to keep you guessing :)
When I asked my husband what he would say I blogged about ----> He said Womanhood.
So there ya go.

6. What are three goals you have for your blog next year?

1) blog more consistently

2) blog more openly & unguarded

3) enjoy the journey

4) learn more (design & marketing)

5) attend a blog conference

7. Tell us about your family. Are you married or in a relationship? Do you have kids? If so, how many and how old are they? Do you have pets? You know, the usual stuff.

I am married to Coach Jason Sims and we
have two kids, Olivia (8) and Jonah (6).
We have two dogs, Tripp and Winston.

8. What part of Texas do you call home?

We live in North Texas, near the Panhandle.

9. How do you make a living?

I am a Transition Coordinator/Counselor for a Special Education Department.

10. Have you attended blog conferences or social events in the past? If this is your first time, what are you most nervous about?

No... This will be my first Blogging Event to attend and I am super nervous.
Just about everything... from what am I going to wear to meeting new people ----
I don't know hardly anyone!!

11. What are you looking forward to the most at the TWB dinner event?

I am just so excited to go to this event and meet some new, friendly folks from this great state!

12. Finally, share your social media links so we can connect online!

The One with the Hayride

Tonight our church had their 3rd Annual Hayride...
We gathered at the Woods Home and enjoyed hot dogs.
Then the men headed out first so they could
 scare the women and children.
[Don't worry most of the young children (ours included) stayed behind with the Pams]

The kids hopped up on the trailer and off we went...

NGCC Youth

I won't mention any names....  Jace Parmer & Hayden Griffin ....but a few of these boys were pretty scared.  So scared they were jumping up into the laps of the girls and each other.
Chivalry must be out when it comes to spook houses and hayrides.

These are the women that rode in the truck pulling the trailer.
These are brave women.
None of them screamed ;)

Here is me and Hayley Mae...

It was a pretty fun night!

Thanks to Levi and Jackie for hosting us!!
You guys do such a great job with the Youth!

I did learn that Jonah put on a show while we were away.  He showed the Pams some of his dance moves.  That kid may be too shy to be Santa in our church play,
but I guess he has no problem dancing in public.
Send prayers.

Goodnight!

The One with the Book Review & a Giveaway {chaos to clutter-free}

A few weeks ago I was asked to review a new ebook coming out, Chaos to Clutter-free: 16 Realistic Steps to an Organized Home by Davonne Parks.

I was so excited to have this opportunity and Davonne has graciously offered to giveaway 5 of her new ebooks to my readers.

As a busy mother and wife I am always on the hunt for new and better ways to keep my house clean & organized!

This book....has not only given me hope, but a plan.
A plan that comes in 16 simple steps.
The book is complete with encouraging quotes and scriptures at the beginning of each step.

I really loved how Davonne was so personable throughout her book and it made me feel like the two of us were sitting on my couch, having coffee and she was sharing with me
amazing, encouraging tips on how to make my home into the home I've always dreamed of!

Each step contains
 Encouragement - Tips - Tasks - Maintenance.

I am going to give you a few pieces of the book
that really inspired me....
______________________________________________________
  • "If your home feels crowded, you have closets or rooms full of boxes, or you’re embarrassed when company comes over, then chances are that you’re hanging on to your past so much that you’re not able to fully embrace the beauty of today."
  • "Organize your bedroom and home office space. Going through the parents’ areas before the kid areas will set an example and precedent for your kids. Later you can remind them, “Remember when I got rid of things in my room, and how nice it looks now? Now we get to make your room that nice!”
  • "Be content to have a dozen outfits you really love and will be happy to wear often rather than fifty outfits that are outdated or that you don’t feel great in."
  • "Think about playtime vs. clean-up time.  If your children spend 10 minutes playing with something and it makes for an hour’s worth of cleanup, the toy is probably more work than it’s worth. Get rid of it."
During one step she also mentions having a clutter basket.... a place to dump everything and then she empties it once a week..... genius!

“Clutter is not just the stuff on your floor—it’s anything that stands between you and the life you want to be living.”
– Peter Walsh
