The One with Training Camp Road Trip: Quanah Indians

Last night this video was tweeted out to me via Adam Ostrow at News Channel 6 in Wichita Falls.

Here is the video:

and here is the article on their website:

The Quanah Indians will have high expectations on offense going into the 2014 season, as they only graduated five seniors last season and get a major portion of their skills position players back.

Fifth-year Head Coach Jason Sims talked about some of their key components on offense.

"First off you have to start with our quarterback, Clay Robertson. He is going to be in his fourth year as our starter, I started him when he freshman. Craig Miles is coming into his third year as a starter. That's a fairly touted backfield that people have known about and their both going to be seniors, and also have Corey Bodine returning at receiver. He was our leading receiver last year."

But the offense isn't the only thing the Indians believe will be intimidating this year, as they also return eight starters on defense. Cisco Fuqua believes despite allowing over 35 points per game last year, the defense is ready to step up this season.
"Our motto has always been 'Kill,' so I think that about says it all right there," Fuqua said. "We have a lot of returning starters. I've played just about every position we have, and I know a lot of other people have to, so we will have a lot of skill people who can play anything.

For Quanah, the goal is simple: they want to win their first state championship.
"We wouldn't like to settle for anything less," said senior receiver Cory Bodine. "I know that's what every team in the state looks for, but we're going to take it one game at a time, and get ready for City View."
The Indians open up their season with what should be a great contest at home against City View on August 29th.
