Monday's Top 5 {#5}

Welcome to my Monday Top 5....
five things to make YOUR Monday just a little brighter!

1) Choosing your children

Recently, I have made some new friends through the blogging world and one of them is Katie from A Lane Above... as I have been catching up on her older blog posts I came along THIS ONE.  She talks about how she would tell her children that she would choose them.
So today as I dropped Jonah off for preschool I gave him a big hug and I told him.... If God lined up alllll of the 5 year little boys with great, big, blue eyes and blonde hair...I would choose you every time.  He looked up at me and smiled and was really thinking about what I had just said.  He took off walking and was still smiling and then he looked back and gave me an even bigger smile.  Oh my...if only I could bottle these moments up!!! It was so sweet.  I wish I would've captured that big smile on film, but I won't forget it.
I can't wait until I pick Olivia up from school and I can tell her something similar.
Priceless moments.

If you have time...read the post....and try it yourself with your own kids.  You'll be surprised how much those words mean to them!! :)

2) Caramel Vanilla Cream by Green Mountain Coffee for Keurig
My friend Heather told me about these and have by far been an excellent purchase!!
Thanks, Heather!!

3) Mama InspirationThere is no one perfect way to be a mother {free printable} #mother

4) Fashion Inspiration
Polka Dots are my Absolute Favorite...
...and this shirt is a great price!!

Buy here...

 5) Life Inspiration

Let go of other people's opinions about you.
Enjoy your week! :)

xoxo...

The One with the Memory Verse {#1}

For the past year I have been doing what I call, "hiding scriptures in my children's hearts."
I am a strong believer that if I teach my kids memory verses while they are young...they will be hidden in their hearts and they will carry them with them as they grow up.
I have a chalkboard in our kitchen and I update it with a new verse after they learn one.
The kids love it!

Here is our Memory Verse from last week....

"Children, obey your parents in all things."
Colossians 3:20

What I Wore Wednesday {#1} ...on a very late Thursday.

Today I am linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy.
The thought and time put into this post has been more than I anticipated or would like to admit.  I've been trying to get this posted for almost two days now.  On this particular post I have gone back and forth because I'm about to be vulnerable and post some terrible pictures....
...pictures of my sad, sad outfits!!
If you are not familiar with the blog - The Pleated Poppy ... go check it out.  Lindsey does a weekly post called What I Wore Wednesday where she posts pictures of her outfits from the past week.  She began this series as a way to get herself motivated to get dressed everyday and not stay in her sweats.
I don't usually wear sweats, but my outfits are beyond sad these days.  I hardly put any thought into them. No style or creativity at all!!! What's funny about this... is that I love putting outfits together in my Polyvore app or pinning them in Pinterest.  My Dream Closet rocks!
Most days I find myself so busy the last thing I take time to do is put some effort into my wardrobe.
By starting these blog posts...I hope that changes soon.

Being the dedicated... or more like obsessed person I can be.... I went through and read ALL of Lindsey's What I Wore Wednesday posts....years of posts!!! I love to see where she started and where she is now.  I also love how she knows her style and enjoys wearing the things she loves often.  You don't need a huge wardrobe ... you just need to know what works for you!

So before you scroll down and see these awful pictures.... let's point out what could be better...

1) the quality of the photos...my iPhone will have to do for now
2) the variety of backgrounds/scenes for my photos
3) better fitting clothes
4) a more pulled together look
5) figure out what exactly my style is!

just to name a few

Please bear with me folks.... I am just trying to get out of this style rut I have fallen in.  Don't even get me started on my hair and jewelry!!! :)

Alright here we go...

Oh real quick:::
Have you heard this before?

We only wear 20%
of our clothes
80% of the time.

Makes me think...I need to find items I love and get rid of the rest.

Ok...now for the outfits.

Monday's Top 5 {#4}

Happy Monday Morning, Friends!!
I started this blog post series because I believe that life is just too short to dread Mondays!
I wanted to give you five things on Monday to hopefully bring a smile to your face, make you think or to just make your Monday a little bit happier!!

Here is this week's Top 5......

1) Who do you spend your time with?
Something to think about...

You become like the 5 people you spend the most time with. Choose carefully.

2) Summer is just around the corner! Here is a fun list I came across with 101 things on there to do with your kids...

100 cheap summer activities to do with the kids!

And to help you plan your very own list...here is a free printable! You can print it out either horizontal or vertical.

5) Another recipe from Mama's Kitchen...
Here is a recipe to one of my easiest and most favoritest ;) desserts.... I love to throw this simple recipe together for parties or church.  It is definitely not the healthiest...but it is definitely the yummiest :)
Cream Cheese Sopapillas Ingredients: 3 cans pillsbury butter crescent rolls 2 (8oz) packages cream cheese (softened) 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 cup butter (melted) Cinnamon & sugar Instructions: Unrolled and spread 1 & 1/2 can crescent rolls on bottom of un-greased pan. Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Spread mixture over crescent rolls. Unroll and spread remaining crescent rolls over mixture. Spread melted butter over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
Sopapilla Cheesecake

Ingredients:

3 cans of pillsbury butter crescent rolls
2 (8 oz.) packages of cream cheese (softened)
1 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter (melted)
cinnamon & sugar

Directions:

1.  Unroll and spread 1 & 1/2 can crescent rolls on bottom of a 9x13 pan.
2.  Combine softened cream cheese, sugar and vanilla extract.
3.  Spread cream cheese mixture over crescent rolls.
4.  Unroll and spread the remaining crescent rolls over the mixture.
5.  Spread melted butter over the mixture.
6.  Sprinkle with cinnamon & sugar.
7.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

I hope despite that it is Monday...you will find joy in the small things!

For me and you he died on the cross for all of our sins.
After three days in the tomb...he arose.
and
Today we celebrate.  Today we love.
Because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our Saviour.

May each of your tomorrows also be filled with love and celebration.
May you know Jesus and be forgiven of all of your sins.
May you live in the present and forget your past.
May you be filled with peace.
May you know that Jesus Loves You.
Today and everyday.

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Happy Thursday...

Man.  What a week...and it's only Thursday not Friday...just yet.

Fitness news...

This week I got a call and was asked about my shirt size.  So let's just get real for a minute.  I am not the size I want to be and I have been lying...for awhile.   This week the Husband ordered me a large, but they wanted to double check.  After I heard my husband tell me what he told them I can see why they wanted to double check.  :) He said he didn't think I was a large, but that I had been wanting to wear bigger shirts and tie them up or something. (I've been wearing his XLs at home)  Darn.  I didn't know he was paying that much attention....  I went ahead and told them to order me a medium though because.....  I WAS a medium, but now I prefer to wear my husband's shirts...but I want to be able to fit into my mediums again....and I WILL.  I would rather have a drawer full of mediums that I WILL wear than some larges that I won't be able to wear eventually.  Makes sense, right?
I don't care what size of shirt you wear...women are beautiful in all sizes.  I just know that I want to be the size I was... not the size I am now.  And I know there are some women that would rather be the size they are now instead of the size they were and yay for y'all! ...
I do not like the size I am now...so alas, I ordered a medium and I'm determined to fit back into it comfortably again.  I guess I will run until the Regional Track Meet so it at least fits a little less snug.

Below is THE SHIRT....can't wait to wear it.....too small or not.

Can't wait to cheer these kids on!! Go Quanah Go!!

While we are on the subject of fitness.  I have had some trouble.  A couple of weeks ago I went at 5:30 a.m. and someone honked at me.  Honked at me...at 5:30 in the morning.  Who does that? It scared me...so I hustled home.  Then the next day I went around 6:00 p.m. in the evening and I was almost done when I went past this house....with this man standing in the front yard and he was staring at me.  Not just glancing, but staring.  Like....creepily staring while he chewed on his toothpick or something.  Now, I have trust issues while I'm sitting in my own home much less while I am out running (I use that verb very loosely) with my music blasting and it's dark outside.
I prefer to workout by myself...but I did discover that I can do my own workout while I am near others that are working out also....that is....if I get up early. And I only have success getting up early if I go to bed early!!!! I'm working on it, folks.
This week I went by myself and I did not have to sprint home in a panic....I finished my workout.  I did the Week One workout of the Color Run Workout that I posted at the bottom of this post.  I felt great afterwards.  So move more ...check! The only bad part of my workout is that for my music I just played my Top 25 Played Songs on my iTunes.....only to find out that these days they are mostly High School Musical Songs....hmmmm I wonder who has had my phone?!?

Don't you feel like you can conquer the world after a workout? Why don't I do this more often???

Mom news...

Before leaving for the baseball game on Tuesday the kids found me upstairs and told me that my coffee had spilled on my desk.  Like it just did it on it's own.  I mean there's no way one of them would've knocked it over, right? My desk is just covered with piles of things...some important, some not.  I thought oh please don't be on something important.  .... sad face -----> only my Erin Condren Planner (gasp).  Oh well...it was ultimately ok.  As I cleaned it up I thought about how sometimes children are these "tiny little destroyers" that zoom around our homes and cars.  It really is amazing the things that can be turned upside down in a matter of minutes.....as I'm thinking on that while getting myself another cup of coffee, I somehow (hmmm) managed to knock my new cup of coffee off of our kitchen counter and onto the floor.  Coffee everywhere!!! I guess I know where they get their Destroyer Status!

Also, check out my cute T-Ball player....I mean aww.  Love him.

Go Cardinals!!!!

Remember the bunny wreath I ordered?
It came in before Easter! Yay!!

Tomorrow is Good Friday and I hope you each have a very blessed day with your loved ones!

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
